Educate:

Intervene:
Know how to respond to a child or youth who shares their experience with you about abuse
If you suspect abuse, it’s your duty to report it; immediately call your local police detachment, or Children and Family Services, to flag your suspicions
Empathy:
Be trauma aware and understand the impacts of trauma on brain development
Receive the Brain Story Certification
Listen to children and youth, believe them and validate their feelings
Role Model:
Talk about internet safety openly and honestly
Show respect and kindness in your relationships with others, including children
Demonstrate healthy boundaries and consent in your behaviors
Engage:

Support parents and caregivers who may need your help
Advocate for policies that prioritize child safety including promoting access to mental health services
