Clearing your internet history can help keep you safe.

Your Digital Trail

Your internet history can tell others where you have been online. Here is how to clear your tracks:

Google Chrome

Select History in the toolbar menu. This opens a drop-down menu. Select Show Full History (at bottom of menu). This will open your browser history. Click on “Clear browsing data,” then select the time range to clear.

Safari

Select History in the toolbar menu. This opens a drop-down menu. Select Clear History (at bottom of menu) then select the time range to clear.

Firefox

Select History in the toolbar menu. This opens a drop-down menu. Select Clear Recent History (second item) then select the time range to clear.

 

Private Browsing

Web browsers offer a private browsing option. This allows you to search the internet without creating a record of where you have been.  Here is how to activate it:

Google Chrome

Go to the File menu and select New Incognito Window.

Safari

Go to the File menu and select New Private Window.

Firefox

Go to the File menu and select New Private Window.
