Donor Highlight: Borden Ladner Gervais LLP

Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is a true partner, in every sense of the word. A longtime supporter of Luna Child and Youth Advocacy Centre in many meaningful ways, BLG has contributed more than $160,000 to our organization since 2016 and provided numerous volunteer hours and pro bono legal services.

Today, BLG has renewed its partnership with Luna for another three years, illustrating their unwavering commitment to ensuring that children and youth who have been impacted by abuse have the support they need to heal and thrive. The continuing partnership will see BLG contribute funding to Luna over the next few years, and the incredible volunteerism and advocacy of the BLG team will also continue—with a particular focus on supporting Luna’s work with Indigenous communities.

“This partnership has made a real impact on Luna, our staff, and on the children, youth and families we serve,” said Karen Orser, Luna’s CEO. “We know that everyone at BLG truly cares about the work we do at the Luna Centre and we are beyond grateful for their continued support.”

Melinda Park, Calgary Partner at BLG, has played an important role within Luna as a board member and Chair of the Governance Committee.

“I love how the people at BLG have wrapped their arms around a place that does such important work,” she said.

Alan Ross, Regional Managing Partner at BLG, is also proud of BLG’s ties to Luna. “Luna’s work is critical and impactful. BLG is honoured to support such a worthwhile organization.”

We look forward to continuing to grow this partnership and everything we are going to achieve over the next few years—and beyond—thanks to BLG’s support. Together, we will empower those impacted by abuse, support their healing, and build a community where everyone plays a role in keeping young people safe.
