A Message Of Thanks From A Luna Donor: Trevor Hittel, SITE Resources Group

When Trevor Hittel, a new donor, recently visited Luna Child and Youth Advocacy Centre, he left with a deeply moved heart and a renewed appreciation for the life-changing work happening within its walls. Sharing his reflections on this experience, he offered a powerful perspective on the importance of supporting organizations that make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families. His heartfelt message highlights the impact of Luna’s collaborative model and the crucial role it plays in rebuilding lives, fostering resilience, and offering hope:

Yesterday was one of the most powerful experiences I have been part of in my long career of volunteering, I always thought what I did as a coach and mentor would help mold youth and make them better Stuarts of our community. This experience has left me moved, motivated, and forever changed, realizing how vital organizations are in rebuilding shattered lives. Thank you too Tracy and Karen for the amazing tour and explanation of what your group is all about.

Imagine a space where Alberta Health Services, Alberta Justice, Calgary Police Services, Children and Family Services, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police all work together under one roof, united as one team. This isn’t just an idea—it’s a reality that’s transforming how we support vulnerable children and families.

By integrating these critical services, we’re breaking down silos and building a collaborative approach to ensure children and families facing trauma, abuse, or crisis receive the care, protection, and justice they deserve. This unified model means faster responses, better communication, and a comprehensive support network—all in one place.

This week, I had the privilege of visiting Luna Child and Youth Advocacy Centre getting a firsthand look at the incredible work they do to support children and families in our community. From providing a safe space for kids in crisis to offering vital resources for healing and growth, their impact is truly immeasurable.

Walking through their facility and hearing stories of resilience and hope was a powerful reminder of the importance of advocacy and support for our most vulnerable community members. The dedication of their team and the compassion embedded in their mission left me both inspired and determined to do more.

Organizations like Luna Child and Youth Advocacy Centre are the backbone of positive change. They need our support—whether it’s through volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word about their mission.
Please if you have not given to a worthwhile cause, consider Luna Child and Youth Advocacy Centre. Let’s come together to ensure these critical resources remain available for those who need them most.

Thank you, Luna Child and Youth Advocacy Centre, for all that you do. Your work is a beacon of hope, and I’m honored to have witnessed it. I hope the small donation I gave you helps those who need it the most.
