#GoBlueAB on Monday, October 24th

October is National Child Abuse Prevention Month in Canada and Luna has joined the eight other Child and Youth Advocacy Centres (CYACs) across Alberta to raise awareness about child abuse and the important role communities play in keeping children and youth safe.

Year after year, Alberta CYACs see an increase in the number of child abuse cases we support. Luna supported 2,732 children, youth, caregivers and siblings last year alone and has served over 13,000 young people and their families since first opening our doors in 2013.

But we cannot do this alone.

We invite you to join us on Monday, October 24th to #GoBlueAB! By wearing blue, we stand in solidarity with the thousands of children, youth and families in Alberta who have been impacted by abuse. Together, we can raise more awareness about the prevalence of child abuse in our province and take actions to help recognize, respond and report.

This challenge is even better with more people, so get your colleagues, class, sports team or family/friends involved, too! All you have to do is wear blue on October 24th and then take a photo and share it on your social media channels. Don’t forget to tag us @lunacentreyyc and use the hashtag #GoBlueAB so we can share your photos throughout the day.

Let's create a wave of blue across Alberta to show our support for the children and youth who need it most. 💙
