Commitment required: One Year, 3 Hours Per Week + Orientation and Training
Typical Shift: 3-hour shifts Tuesday-Friday during business hours (typically 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm)
In this role you will:
Greet families as they enter the Child Space in a friendly and sensitive manner.
Offer snacks and refreshments to families entering the Child Space.
Maintain an overall tidy atmosphere and assist with cleaning the Child Space and toy cleaning as needed.
Stock and tidy the toy room and storage areas.
Stock and tidy refreshment areas and kitchens throughout Luna.
Support the Child Life Specialist and other Luna staff members in projects and other duties as requested such as stuffing envelopes, preparing event materials, etc.
Engage with children and youth, on average ranging in age from 7-17, who are waiting in the Child Space.

What we are looking for in this role:
Interested and enthusiastic about providing a welcoming and tidy atmosphere for children, youth, and their families that are dealing with child abuse.
Comfortable interacting with children, youth, and caregivers in a warm and caring manner that is sensitive to each child and family’s needs.
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate maturity, reliability, and punctuality as well as a strong work ethic.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
Sensitivity towards family histories, potential impacts of previous experiences, and cultural differences.
Desire to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment.
